The Student Success Center is a holistic hub of resources for students of all abilities and needs. We understand the foundation of undergraduate student success as the intersection of academic, personal, and professional goals. By integrating the units of Academic Advising, Career Planning, and Learning Strategies, we provide a welcoming environment conducive to self-driven exploration and discovery. Students can seamlessly transition between personalized resources for academic planning, professional development, and tutoring support. The Student Success Center endeavors to empower all students to be lifelong learners and problem-solvers.

Advising

Academic Advising plays a critical role in a student’s academic development and degree progression at Penn State.  At Fayette, students typically are assigned a faculty adviser based on the major they are pursuing.

Career Planning

A variety of resources and services to assist students in the career exploration process are available through the Career Planning office. Workshops, resume assistance, information about graduate schools, government agencies, career fairs, job openings, on campus recruiting, and the career resource library are available to all students. The Career Planning team can help you with your concerns, provide information, and make referrals to other resources and services.

Learning Strategies

The Student Success Center provides a variety of resources to Penn State Fayette students through individual support and academic programs, such as SAGE (Student Athletes Graduate and Excel), PaSSS (Pathway to Success: Summer Start), and various first-year seminar and peer mentoring initiatives. Individual and group academic tutoring consultations with peer and professional tutors are available for the following subjects: Writing, Math, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Physical Therapy, Economics, and more. Each academic year, current students may apply to be a tutor or peer mentor and assist other students. Students are also welcome meet with staff to discuss time-management and study skills or participate in Student Success Center workshops and events throughout each semester. Additionally, the Student Success Center facilitates test proctoring for students with approved accommodations through the University’s Health Services.
